Rubber waterstop, made of quality SBR (styrene butadiene rubber), neoprene rubber or natural rubber, is one of the widest types for concrete structure to prevent liquid leaking in or out. Rubber waterstop is mainly used for construction joints and deformation joints of dams, subways, culverts, tunnels with good waterproof performance.
Waterstop plays an important role in waterproofing a concrete structure, especially joints, the weakest part which is liable to leakage of water or chemical liquids. So waterstops are designed as a fluid-tight diaphragm embedded in or running along the joints to solve these problems.
Rubber wastertop is one of the most common used wasterstops. According to difference classifications, it can be divided into several groups. Fox example, according to its materials, it has SBR rubber, neoprene rubber, natural rubber type, etc. It can also be classified as dumbbell type and central bulb type, based on the appearance. Dumbbell type is the most widely used one, accounting for more than 50% share globally.
